As we have experienced one of the coldest winters in recent years, many of us are constantly thinking about a holiday.  The snow storms and Siberian cold is making us want a sun and beach holiday instead of a European city or the snowy mountains.

Luckily you don´t have to travel to southeast Asia or the Caribbean to enjoy a warm winter climate. At only around 4-5 hours from any European airport, Fuerteventura is the ideal spot to enjoy an island of “eternal spring” with the most spectacular beaches of the Canaries on which to spend many hours enjoying the sunshine.

Beach Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canaries and the closest to Africa, situated only 97kms from the northwest coast, hence the privileged climate throughout the year for its residents and visitors. This island of “eternal spring” boasts an average of 320 days of sun per year and an average temperature of 21º.

Although the climate in Fuerteventura is pleasant throughout the year, it is rare to get extreme temperatures, we do have to remember that there are certain differences in the seasons, especially summer and winter.

Out of all the islands, Fuerteventura is the coolest in summer so is ideal to escape high temperatures and it is the warmest in winter. The continual winds on the island throughout the year make it an ideal destination to practice sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
